On the one hand, I hate July for the sports desert that it is. But on the other hand, if I didn’t end up spending time searching for whatever could help me through it, I might never find things like the below video, a 22-minute highlight reel of NC State’s best plays against UNC:
So it’s a give and a take, I guess. I remembered a lot of this but had forgotten some amusing details, like that Rivers-to-Cotchery play in 2003 being the first play after halftime. These highlights also span Mack Brown being heartbroken as an announcer in the booth to Mack Brown being heartbroken as UNC’s head coach.
I think we all agree that the most enjoyable highlights are the ones in Chapel Hill, and man, there’s a lot of them. There’s an astounding number of them. It’s hilarious how often NC State has gotten the better of UNC in Chapel Hill, and in a beautiful array of heartbreaking ways, too.
I feel like we don’t talk or dwell on this enough. If you’re having a particularly bad day, don’t forget about this.
