Five-star Caleb Wilson enjoys ‘impactful’ visit to North Carolina

Five-star jumbo Wing Caleb Wilson enjoyed an impactful visit to North Carolina this past weekend for the Duke game along with fellow five-star Jasper Johnson.

The 6-foot-9 Wilson is ranked the No. 6 overall prospect in the Class of 2025, per 247Sports.com.

“The visit was great,” Wilson said after watching No. 3 North Carolina beat rival No. 9 Duke, 93-84 on Saturday at the Dean Dome.

“I loved their fan base, the school and the atmosphere surrounding sports. Their message is that I’m ready to play on Day 1 with consistent work and effort and that they need and want me to be a Tar Heel.”

“The visit was compact but it packed a huge punch,” Jerry Wilson, Caleb’s father, told ZAGSBLOG. “We had a chance to get an impactful look into the UNC program. There was good conversations with all the coaches (all UNC former players), which gave insight on the dedication to get the Tar Heels back to the top of the mountain.

“It was great spending time with Coach [Hubert] Davis, he’s really cool to be around. To see him in both aspects, on and off the court was quite interesting, going from fierce competitor to light-hearted fun guy was pretty cool.

“Then, the game was a whole experience by itself. It was so loud and passionate in the Smith Center, I can still feel the vibe today. I’m still amazed that my son could possibly play on a stage like this one day. The team seems very connected, I can’t wait to see how they finish the season.”

Wilson has also visited Georgia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Stanford and Kentucky.
