CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — Sunday was a big day for the Diamond Heels.
Hours after winning the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship title game in dominating fashion with a 14-4 win over Clemson, North Carolina (42-12) learned it would host a regional to start the NCAA DI baseball tournament for the second season in a row.
During Monday’s selection show, the Tar Heels were revealed to be the No. 5 seed in the country overall, which means they would also host super regionals if they advance out of the first week of the postseason. UNC also hosted supers last season en route to a trip to Omaha for the College World Series.
But first, regionals. Monday’s bracket reveal show announced Holy Cross (31-25) of the Patriot League, Big Ten Tournament champion Nebraska (32-27) and Oklahoma (35-20) from Southeastern Conference will be coming to Chapel Hill for the double-elimination event this weekend.
Play will begin Friday at Boshamer Stadium. The winner of this regional will move on to face the winner of the Eugene one — hosted by Oregon — in the supers. Here’s the schedule for games in Chapel Hill along with the team’s seed in the event.
