CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — It’s win or go home time in Chapel Hill on Sunday.
The No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels (46-14) and Arizona Wildcats (43-19) face off for a third and final time int he 2025 Chapel Hill Super Regional with a trip to Omaha on the line. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
The Tar Heels dominated the first game Friday afternoon winning the contest by a score of 18-2. But the Wildcats came back multiple times Saturday afternoon to tie the game and eventually take the lead. Arizona edged out UNC in the second game of the super regional, 10-8.
That Wildcats win set up Sunday’s winner-take-all game with a trip to the College World Series in Omaha on the line. If the Tar Heels are able to win Sunday, it will be their second consecutive trip to NCAA DI baseball’s premier event.
