CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — North Carolina football is back at Kenan Memorial Stadium for the first time since the season-opening loss to TCU on Labor Day.
The Tar Heels (1-1) are looking for their first home win as they host the Richmond Spiders (1-1). Kickoff in Chapel Hill is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
UNC made a short road trip last week, defeating Charlotte 20-3 for head coach Bill Belichick’s first collegiate win. Quarterback Gio Lopez threw a 51-yard touchdown to Chris Culliver on the Tar Heels’ first possession, which would prove to be the only passing score of the game. Lopez finished with 155 yards, completing 17 of his 25 pass attempts.
Richmond is coming off a 14-10 win last week over Wofford. Spiders quarterback Kyle Wickersham had a hand in both touchdowns his team scored, as he passed for one and rushed in for the other. Wickersham finished with 153 passing yards and 78 rushing yards in the victory.
Up next for UNC is a trip to the Sunshine State. The Tar Heels travel to Orlando to face UCF next Saturday.
