ORLANDO (WNCN) — Tar Heels football is in Orlando this weekend for Bill Belichick’s first college game outside the state of North Carolina.
UNC (2-1) is set to face Central Florida (2-0) on Saturday afternoon in the first true road test for the Tar Heels. Kickoff at FBC Mortgage Stadium, aka the Bounce House, is set for 3:30 p.m.
After the Labor Day loss to TCU, the Tar Heels have routed both Charlotte and Richmond, holding the teams to a combined 9 points. Last week against the Spiders, UNC won 41-6, with quarterback Gio Lopez accounting for three total touchdowns.
The Knights come into Saturday so far unbeaten on the season. The last played on Sept. 6, when they defeated NC A&T by a score of 68-7. In that game, running backs Jaden Nixon and Jacurri Brown each had two touchdowns and ran for 156 yards and 106 yards, respectively.
Up next for UNC is a big challenge as the Clemson Tigers come to town. That game is set to be played in Chapel Hill on Oct. 4.
