UNC basketball non-conference schedule released for 2025-26 season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — The Tar Heels have released their schedule for non-conference games this basketball season and fans have something to be excited about for upcoming home games.

The University of North Carolina will face the University of Kansas for the first time ever at the Dean E. Smith Center after their season opener against Central Arkansas. This will be the 14th time overall the Tar Heels and Jayhawks go at it. They have played each other in North Carolina, but in Raleigh in 1959 and Charlotte in 1981.

There will be nine non-conference home games in total for the 2025-26 season. This includes a preseason game against HBCU Winston-Salem State University on Oct. 29. Another special preseason game will be announced soon, according to UNC’s athletics department.

Nov. 7 vs. Kansas

Nov. 11 vs. Radford

Nov. 14 vs. NC Central
