One of Kate Martin’s Aces teammates wanted to pour a little salt on the wound before officially welcoming her to Vegas.

Ahead of the team’s final preseason exhibition vs. Puerto Rico, Aces star A’ja Wilson had Martin rocking full South Carolina gear after the two-time MVP’s alma mater sent the Iowa Hawkeyes home in the national title game.

Martin’s outfit quickly went viral on social media and had fans feeling bad for her:

“Kate hates every second of that,” a user laughed.

“If she wasn’t fighting for her life to make the team. I’m sure she would have threw on an Iowa hat too,” another said.

“A’ja is an absolute menace for this,” a fan tweeted.

“This is wildddddd.”

“This is diabolical lol,” another person commented.

Martin has inched closer to earning a WNBA roster spot with each passing day.

The former Iowa guard has impressed thus far in practice and is just 48 hours away from finding out whether or not she’ll be one of the 12 players who makes the cut for the back-to-back world champs.

The Aces drafted Martin with the 18th pick in the second round after she was a vital part to the Hawkeyes’ success over the last five years.
