Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman was the only quarterback who ran the 40-yard dash today as most quarterbacks opted out for personal or injury reasons. But the flowing-haired former Fighting Irish signal-caller did not disappoint – at least from a cinematic standpoint.
While Hartman’s actual 40-time was an unremarkable 4.80 seconds, fans were far more impressed by Hartman’s flowing locks. Many have compared his hair to that of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his long, blond hair.

Fans are already making jokes about how much Hartman’s hair is going to make him in advertising and sponsorship deals once his NFL career begins.
“Absolute lock for a 7-figure deal with whatever shampoo company he wants.,” RedditCFB posted on X.
“Looks like John Wick running from an explosion,” another user joked.
“Why does he low key look like Ryan Reynolds in slow motion,” wrote a third.
Hartman played six seasons of college football and heads into the NFL as one of its oldest prospects. He’ll be 25 before the end of training camp.
Over the past three seasons between Wake Forest and Notre Dame, Hartman threw for over 100 touchdowns and 10,000 passing yards.Â
Hartman does have accuracy and turnover issues though, which is why he is not expected to be taken in the first round and might not even hear his name on Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft.Â
However, it’s going to be pretty easy to spot Hartman on the sidelines with locks like those.Â
He’s got a recognizable look even if he doesn’t have the prettiest ball.
