Coby White is expected to make his debut with the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday. The veteran combo guard has been upgraded to probable for the Hornets game at White’s former team the Chicago Bulls. White has been rehabbing from a left calf strain, which he suffered shortly before the trade deadline.
The Hornets acquired White, and the since-waived Mike Conley, from the Bulls in exchange for Collin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng (who was subsequently traded to the Milwaukee Bucks) and two second-round picks. The deal originally included a third second-round pick headed to Chicago, but was amended when it was discovered White would need time to return from the calf strain.
On the season, White has averaged 18.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.7 points per game. The veteran guard has stated in 26 of his 29 games with the Bulls, but it expected to primarily come off the bench for the Hornets.
