NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Charlotte Hornets presented a $25,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Crescent Region Saturday afternoon.
The donation will go towards launching a pop-up computer lab. The project would expand digital access and promote AI-enhanced learning for over 1,000 students across Charleston and Dorchester counties.
Members of the Hornets organizations – including President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston and Hornets players Moussa Diabate and Liam McNeeley – and the Mayor of North Charleston, Reggie Burgess, participated in a check presentation at Bridge View Elementary Charter School in North Charleston.

On Sunday, organizers held a Hornets Hoop youth clinic at the Meeting Street Academy with participants from the Boys & Girls Club. During the event, more than 750 tickets for Sunday’s preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder were donated to several Charleston-area nonprofits.
