CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Charlotte Hornets have acquired guard Collin Sexton and a 2030 second-round pick from the Utah Jazz in exchange for center Jusuf Nurkić, the team announced Sunday.
The 8th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Alabama, Sexton’s career averaged 18.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 29.9 minutes per game across 407 total appearances (335 starts). Last season, Sexton averaged 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 27.9 minutes per game, starting 61 of 63 outings.
He was named Second Team All-Rookie in 2018-19 and spent his first four seasons in Cleveland before being traded to Utah in September 2022.

Nurkić joined the Hornets back in February after coming from Phoenix alongside a 2026 first-round pick in exchange for Cody Martin, Vasilije Micić and a 2026 second-round pick.
In 590 games (490 starts) across 11 NBA seasons, Nurkić has averaged 11.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 blocks in 24.3 minutes per game. He was named Second Team All-Rookie in 2014-15 and has averaged a double-double four times in his career.
The Hornets now hold three or more selections in every draft through 2031.
