CHARLOTTE (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Charlotte Hornets have once again traded Serbian guard Vasilije Micic, this time to the Milwaukee Bucks for veteran forward Pat Connaughton and two second-round picks, according to ESPN.
Insider Shams Charania reports that the second-round picks are the Bucks’ own picks in 2031 and 2032.

This is the fourth time in the last 16 months the Charlotte Hornets have made a trade involving Micic.
Micic/Hornets trade history
- February 8, 2024– Hornets trade Gordon Hayward to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Micic, guard Tre Mann, forward Davis Bertans and two second-round draft picks
- February 6, 2025– Hornets trade Micic, guard Cody Martin and a 2026 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for center Jusuf Nurkic
- June 25, 2025– Hornets trade Mark Williams and a 2029 second-round pick to the Suns for Micic, the draft rights to Liam McNeely, and a 2029 first-round pick
- July 1, 2025– Hornets trade Micic to the Milwaukee Bucks for Connaughton and two second-round picks
Connaughton, entering his 11th season in the NBA, was part of the Bucks team that won the 2021 NBA Championship. This past season he only appeared in 41 games and averaged only 5.3 points; however, he shot 46.9% from the field, which was a career-high.
He is entering the last year of a 3-year contract in which he’ll make $9.4 million and set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
Connaughton joins a slew of new faces in the Hornets locker room that include 2025 draft picks Kon Knueppel, McNeely, Sion James and Ryan Kalkbrenner, returning center Mason Plumlee, and guard Colin Sexton.
Connaughton only averaged just over 5 PPG last year with Milwaukee, but Charlotte getting draft capital of any kind for Vasa Micic is significant. More draft picks / potential trade assets is big to have. https://t.co/HopsVPbuXR
