LaVar Ball Has His Foot Amputated

February 20, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Basketball

After suffering a “serious medical issue”, LaVar Ball had his right foot amputated, TMZ Sports reported first on Wednesday. Ball, the co-founder of Big Baller Brand, made a name for himself by promoting his sons, LaMelo Ball, Lonzo Ball, and LiAngelo Ball. According to the report, despite having his right foot removed, he is in great spirits and doing well.

LaVar Ball Has His Foot Amputated

TMZ first reported that LaVar would undergo a medical procedure due to a medical issue. Shortly after, the celebrity publication published a photo of LaMar with his foot amputated. The co-founder of the Big Baller Brand can be seen smiling, showing he is in good spirits. Ball and his sons have yet to publicly address the situation.

LaVar is the father of NBA stars Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball, as well as LiAngelo Ball who has never made an NBA roster but is trying to make it in the music world. The 57-year-old underwent the procedure on Wednesday afternoon. Many people love to hate the controversial businessman because he promotes his sons into the spotlight.

Through his Big Baller Brand, he created signature shoes for the trio of basketball players. However, fans after the incident took to social media to express their thoughts on LaVar. Most of them have positive thoughts. Some of the tweets include:

  • The fact that LaVar Ball is still smiling after having his foot amputated is wild. People love to hate him but he’s done nothing but care about his sons and bring positivity to everyone.
  • The only reason white folk hate LaVar Ball is because he is a Black man living in America.
  • Prayers for LaVar. Black Power!
  • Still sending prayers to Lavar Ball, getting a part of your body amputated and still having a great smile on his face is awesome! Stick through it and stay safe and healthy!
  • LaVar Ball is an inspiring, tough man!

LaVar’s Sons Got the Bag

Despite having his foot amputated, you can say LaVar Ball had a good February. Two of his sons got big contracts.

Lonzo agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract extension with the Chicago Bulls after the trade deadline passed. This season, Lonzo made his long-awaited return after multiple procedures that kept him out for more than 1,000 days. LiAngelo scored a $13 million deal with Universal Music’s Def Jam after his hit single “Tweaker” blew up the charts. LaMelo has previously signed a five-year, $203+ million contract with the Charlotte Hornets. His contract is fully guaranteed and he is signed through the 2028-29 season.

LaVar Wants Lonzo and LaMelo in LA

Before the season started, LaVar shocked the NBA saying that he wants his sons to reunite in Los Angeles. The interesting part is that he wants them to play for the Clippers, not for the Lakers. He has previously expressed his dissatisfaction in public with the Lakers after they traded Lonzo in the Anthony Davis trade to the Pelicans.

His wish probably will never come true. Lonzo signed a contract for two more years with the Bulls, and LaMelo is considered a franchise cornerstone in Charlotte. Of course, he can dream, but the Clippers do not need a point guard at the moment, let alone two.
