RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The race for the Stanley Cup Playoffs continues for “Raleighwood!”
The NHL announced Saturday that game one of the Eastern Conference Semifinals series between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals will begin Tuesday, May 6, at the Capital One Arena in Washington.
Early Sunday morning, the Hurricanes announced the rest of the schedule the league had set for their series.
The Hurricanes will host Games 3 and 4 of the series on Saturday, May 10, and Monday, May 12, respectively, and a potential Game 6 on Saturday, May 17, at Lenovo Center.
This is the second time these two teams have competed in the postseason. Back in 2019, the Canes won that matchup in the Eastern Conference First Round, 4-3.
CBS 17 previously reported that tickets went on sale Friday for this playoff series, which will begin in DC at the Capital One Arena.
The Hurricanes will host Games 3 and 4 — as well as the potential Game 6 — at the Lenovo Center.
The Hurricanes defeated the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday at the Lenovo Center in a first round series, 4-1. That double overtime thriller was won by Sebastian Aho’s second power play goal with just minutes left in the game.
