RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — After dominating their first two playoff series this postseason, the Carolina Hurricanes will now have to battle the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final — again.
The Hurricanes and the Panthers start the series Tuesday night in Raleigh. Game 1 is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. at the Lenovo Center.
The series is a rematch of the 2023 Eastern Conference Final, but the Canes are looking for a different result. Two years ago, they were swept by Florida in a series that started with a four-overtime game.
But with their current perfect record on home ice this postseason, Carolina is hoping to win its first conference final game since 2006, the year the franchise won its first and so far only Stanley Cup.
Game 2 will also be in Raleigh, with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday night.
