RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — In the second time in three seasons that the Carolina Hurricanes have advanced to the Eastern Conference Final of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they now know their opposing team.
The National Hockey League announced late Saturday night the developing schedule for the Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Final.
The Carolina Hurricanes eliminated the Washington Capitals 3-1 on Thursday night in Washington, earning spot number 1 in the ECF. The Canes waited for the winner of the Florida Panthers-Toronto Maple Leafs semifinal series — which was the Panthers.
The Hurricanes face the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final, and the series opens with Game 1 on Tuesday, May 20, at 8 p.m. at the Lenovo Center. Tickets are on sale now.
The series marks the second meeting between Carolina and Florida in the postseason. The Hurricanes fell to the Panthers in four games in the 2023 Eastern Conference Final.
