Discussion about performances by certain players.
The crew here at Canes Country decided to offer up a special feature for posting during the playoffs. We will select our own choices for the most valuable player of the game, (winning games only).
Be prepared, the choices might not end up to be one of the game’s previously selected first, second, or third stars.
My first choice is Stephan Noesen.
Noesen earns his living by being camped in front of the opposing net. It’s not an easy job.
He screens the goalie, attempting to shield the netminder’s view of the puck. In the meantime, he is getting crosschecked, tripped, bashed in the head, and hammered in any way the defense can legally muster.
Last night, he not only scored the game-winning goal, he screened the goalie on Kuznetsov’s goal. So in essence, he actively participated in two goals last night even though he did not earn any points for screening the goalie.
Al Hood and EvanTBH both selected Evgeny Kuznetsov.
“Kuzy” was also named as the game’s official first star and he certainly made a case for it. He not only scored the game’s first goal, he got an assist on Noesen’s goal as well.
Kyle Morton’s choice was Frederik Andersen. It seems he was also Brind’Amour’s first choice but he was named as the game’s official second star last night.
