RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The road to the Stanley Cup is about to begin for the Carolina Hurricanes.
Postseason play opens this weekend as the Hurricanes face off against the New Jersey Devils in the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Carolina is set to host Game 1 of the best-of-seven-game series at the Lenovo Center on Sunday at 3 p.m.
This marks the sixth meeting between these two franchises in the playoffs, with the Hurricanes owning a 4-1 postseason series lead over the Devils. When both teams last played one another in 2023, the Hurricanes came away victorious in the second-round series in five games.
As Carolina holds a home-ice advantage in the first round, the Hurricanes have a 45-26 overall record at the Lenovo Center during the postseason, winning 12 of their last 15 playoff home series dating back to 2002.
The Hurricanes concluded the regular season with a second-place finish in the Metropolitan Division, making their seventh consecutive playoff appearance.
