Canes win Brind’Amour’s 500th game as coach.

The Carolina Hurricanes won their third game in a row as they defeated the Dallas Stars, 2-1 on Tuesday night in a tightly checked game in Dallas.

It was head coach Rod Brind’Amour’s 500th career game as Carolina’s head coach.

Pyotr Kochetkov had an excellent game and allowed only one goal on the 19 shots he faced.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored both goals for the good guys.

After a scoreless first period, Kotkaniemi scored his first with a nice snap shot, off a perfect cross ice pass from Martin Necas in the second period.

The Stars would tie things up midway through the third period, but Carolina would counter shortly after.

Sean Walker sent a shot toward the net while Kotkaniemi was crashing the net. Jake Oettinger stopped the shot but the puck came out to “KK” and it bounced in the net off of him.

The Canes held off the home team the rest of the way for the win.

They will fly home for their next game which will be against the Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
