The Canes look to put an end to their three game losing streak in Vancouver.
There is no doubt about it, the Carolina Hurricanes are in a funk right now.
Their head coach has called the team “fragile” and has said that some players “need to look in the mirror”.
Player interviews have gone much the same way as some quotes have stated that not all players are on the same page or they have not bought into the system.
The team has lost three games in a row. Their goaltending is less than ideal and goal scoring is inconsistent. What else could go wrong?
During tough times and adversity a team can sometimes rally around each other and start to build something special. Have the Canes reached that point?
Tonight will be a challenge as they visit the Vancouver Canucks who have a 17-9-1 record. They have scored a league high 103 goals and allowed 70 for a difference of +33.
The Hurricanes record is 14-11-1. They have scored 85 and allowed 86 for a delta of -1.
If I was coach Brind’Amour, I would go with Raanta tonight but as of this publication, there has been no announcement regarding the starting goalie.
J.T Miller leads the ‘Nucks with 14 goals and 39 points. Defenseman Quinn Hughes is next up with 9 goals and 36 points.
Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith share the net minding duties and have respective .918 and .917 save percentages.
The Hurricanes will need more than good luck tonight.
Game time is 10 P.M. on Bally Sports South.
