Meltdown in Tinseltown

The Carolina Hurricanes were looking for their ninth straight win but instead were handed a disappointing, 7-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday afternoon.

The Kings led 3-0 after one period and 6-1 after two as this game was never close even though Carolina outshot the opposition in every period.

Jordan Staal and Shayne Gostisbehere both missed this game, Staal due to an injury and Gostisbehere due to illness.

With the score, 6-0, Dmitri Orlov scored later in the second period.

Mark Jankowski closed out the scoring for both teams by adding a goal for Carolina with just less than two minutes left in the game.

The Canes outshot the Kings, 36-25 for the game.

Seth Jarvis got rocked hard in the third but Brind’Amour said that he seemed okay after the game. They would know more for sure tomorrow.

The Hurricanes get to erase this one quickly as they play against Anaheim Sunday evening.
