SUNRISE, Fla. (WNCN) — The Carolina Hurricanes find themselves in a deep hole as the series moves to south Florida and must now fight for their season away from home ice.
The Hurricanes and Florida Panthers are set to face off in Game 3 of the 2025 NHL Eastern Conference Final on Saturday night. The puck is scheduled to drop at 8 p.m. at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise.
The defending Stanley Cup champions have a 2-0 lead in the series thanks to dominating performances in Raleigh. The Panthers scored five goals in each of the two contests at the Lenovo Center, while the Canes managed two in Game 1 and then were shut out in Game 2.
Ahead of Game 3, Carolina announced that Pyotr Kochetkov would start in goal, replacing Frederik Andersen, who started the first two games. Kochetkov also replaced Andersen in Game 2 on Thursday, coming in to play the final period of that contest.
Game 4 will be Monday night in Sunrise.
