The St. Louis Blues Make News as They Signs Robby Fabbri

The St. Louis Blues have officially announced the signing of forward Robby Fabbri to a one-year contract, two-way deal. The 29-year-old played the 2024–25 season with the Anaheim Ducks, but the season was plagued by injuries. Fabbri had been a unrestricted free agent previous to today’s signing news. His last contract was three years, $12,000,000 with a cap hit of $4,000,000 per season.

Fabbri appeared in 44 games for Anaheim last season, recording eight goals and eight assists for 16 points along with 20 penalty minutes. He averaged just under 14 minutes of ice time per game. Though last season was limited due to injury, Fabbri could be a nice addition to his new team. Before the injuries, he showed flashes of high skill and the ability to help a team offensively. That said, across the last three seasons, Fabbri has missed over 100 games due to injuries, highlighting his significant struggles with staying healthy.

Career Background and Player Profile

Originally selected 21st overall by the St. Louis Blues in 2014, Fabbri made an immediate impact with 18 goals as a rookie. Furthermore, he played a key role in the Blues’ 2019 Stanley Cup run. St. Louis traded him to Detroit later that year, and he went on to tally 113 points in 216 games with the Red Wings. The Red Wings then dealt him to Anaheim in July 2024.

Through 412 career NHL games, Fabbri has recorded 92 goals and 104 assists for 196 points. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound winger is known for his quick release, sharp instincts around the net, and willingness to battle in high-traffic areas. Despite a history of knee injuries, he has proven resilient and continues to contribute offensively when healthy.

What This Means for the Blues

Fabbri adds a reliable scoring option and valuable experience to Blue’s forward group. His ability to slide up and down the lineup, contribute on special teams, and bring playoff pedigree makes him a solid depth signing. If he stays healthy, Fabbri has the tools to be a difference-maker in tight matchups and a leader on and off the ice. St. Louis could use a spark, and bringing in a familiar face, could be exactly what the doctor ordered.
