We’re counting down the days until the Panthers open up the 2025 season!
There are 56 days until the first game of the season for the Carolina Panthers. Today’s piece looks at the player wearing the number 56 jersey, linebacker Christian Rozeboom.
Rozeboom joined the Carolina Panthers on March 12th of this year when he agreed to a 1-year, $2.5M contract. He was an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State University, signing with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. He didn’t make the final roster cut there, but did catch on with the 2021 Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams signed him off of the Chiefs practice squad and he stayed with them until entering free agency this season.
2024 was Rozeboom’s first year as a nearly full-time starter, starting 11 of 17 games. He recorded 135 tackles, one interception, four passes defensed, and one sack in that time.
Rozeboom, as with many of the Panthers veteran free agent additions this season, is more of a gamble on growing potential than a guarantee of talent. That said, he is also still the second most experienced linebacker on the team behind Josey Jewell.
