We’re counting down the days until the Panthers open up the 2025 season!

In this series, we’ll be counting down until opening kickoff by running through the Panthers roster by jersey number. Today’s piece looks at the current and historical players to have ever donned No. 67 for the Carolina Panthers.

Current Player: Luke Kandra

Kandra (6’4”, 320 lbs) is a guard from Cincinnati, Ohio. He started his collegiate career with a few years playing for the Louisville Cardinals before returning home to play for the Cincinnati Bearcats for the last two years of his eligibility. While mostly a special teamer at Louisville, he actually became a starter with the Bearcats and earned consecutive All-Big 12 Conference honors. He was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine this year and outpaced everyone in the bench press with 33 reps. Despite the strong end to his career and solid showing at the combine, Kandra went undrafted following the 2025 NFL Draft. He quickly signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent, coming full circle as he moved from one Queen City to another.

Kandra is likely a practice squad option for the Panthers barring injuries on the offensive line and/or some outstanding showings in training camp. With the Panthers returning all five starters and most main depth pieces on the line, chances are slim for Kandra to see the active roster this season.

Notable Previous Players to Wear Number 67: Justin McCray, Ryan Kalil, Bryan Stoltenberg

The most recent player to don the 67 for the Panthers was Justin McCray in 2023. By far the most renowned Panther to wear it was Ryan Kalil. Kalil was the man in the middle of the Panthers offensive line for over a decade and an anchor for so many dominant teams. He will likely be entered into the Panthers Ring of Honor at some point, and he is elligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the first time this year. While he likely won’t be enshrined in Canton, he is well deserving of his number being retired some day in Charlotte. Stoltenberg spent three seasons in Carolina, including two as a more than half-time starter on interior of the offensive line. He played his final season with the Panthers in 2000, which was also his final season in the league.
