Bills Make Josh Allen Announcement Amid Health Scare

December 23, 2025 by Heavy

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills had an injury scare on Sunday, December 21, when the team lost Allen to an injury late in the first half of their game against the Cleveland Browns. During a play heading into halftime, Allen was injured around his right ankle, and he was forced to exit the game.

Thankfully, that didn’t last long, and Allen was able to get back into the second half of the game and help the Bills pull off their 23-20 victory. As for the injury, Allen was in Buffalo’s backfield and almost took a safety. Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett was on him, so Allen fell near the goal line and motioned his ankle as if he was injured. Allen limped to the side of the field and met with trainers in the Buffalo Bills bench area. He went into the locker room but, thankfully, came out.

Not long after the injury, the Bills announced that Allen was cleared to come back into the game. “QB Josh Allen had X-rays on his foot and has been cleared to return,” they stated on X, to the relief of Bills viewers everywhere.

Thankfully, Allen is okay, and on top of that, the Bills made a huge announcement about the quarterback on Tuesday, December 23. Allen has been selected for the 2026 Pro Bowl.

The 2026 Pro Bowl roster includes Allen, running back James Cook III and left tackle Dion Dawkins This is Allen’s fourth Pro Bowl nod, Cook’s third and Dawkins’ fifth.

Allen’s numbers say it all. According to the Bills’ official website, “So far in 2025, Allen threw for 3,406 yards and 25 touchdowns on 296 completions. He has a 69.6 completion percentage. On the ground, he rushed for 552 yards and 12 scores on 105 carries through the first 15 games of the season.”

“Allen is one touchdown away from becoming the fastest and youngest player to reach 300 regular season touchdowns all-time in his career,” Sydney Ciano of the Bills’ site stated on Tuesday. “He became the fastest player to reach 300 career touchdowns in the regular season and postseason combined in September as well.”

The 2026 Pro Bowl is scheduled to take place on Tuesday February 3, and the game will air on ESPN, Disney XD and ESPN Deportes starting at 6:30 p.m. ET with the flag game at 8 p.m. ET.

Josh Allen Gearing Up for Next Buffalo Bills Game

After the win, Allen spoke with the media about the injury scare and assured them that he’s okay. When asked on the sideline by Evan Washburn if his foot was feeling well, he said, “We’re gravy, baby.”

In the postgame press conference, Allen was also asked if the injury impacted him in the second half of the game. “No, I don’t think so,” he commented. He even said, “I just tweaked my foot a little bit.”

So, should be good to go for the rest of the team’s season and postseason, even though he skipped practice on Tuesday.

The Bills’ win moved them to a 11-4 record for the season. They can clinch a playoff spot on Sunday, December 21, or Monday, December 22, if the Houston Texans or Indianapolis Colts lose in their respective games, according to NFL research.
