CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Carolina Panthers announced plans to add a quarterback for the final week of the preseason on Sunday.
The team says they plan to sign reigning UFL MVP Bryce Perkins this week, according to multiple reports.
Perkins, 28, played for the Rams during the 2020-22 seasons, appearing in five games with one start. The Arizona-native appeared in four games during the Michigan Panthers’ UFL 2024 regular season, going 343 yards with two touchdowns and 20 carries for 181 yards.
This announcement comes after backup quarterback Andy Dalton left Saturday’s preseason game against the Texans after just one series due to a right elbow injury. Jack Plummer finished the remainder of the game.
Since the starters are not expected to play Thursday against the Steelers, the Panthers are in need of another passer.
