The Panthers add more depth to their defensive front on Day 3 of the draft.
The Carolina Panthers selected Florida defensive tackle Cam Jackson with the second pick of the 5th round (140th overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Jackson is a monster of a human being. At the combine, he measured in at 6’6”, 328 pounds with 34 1/8” arms (those are long arms). He’s primarily a run stuffer in the middle of the line, using his size and length to occupy blockers and clog up run lanes. He didn’t provide a lot of production as a pass rusher, but he can be somewhat disruptive using his strength to push the pocket back in pass defense.
The Panthers have gotten a couple of offensive play makers, but they’re clearly using the draft to add as much depth and potential contributors to the defense as they can. Jackson adds a run stopping complement to the pass rushing edges the Panthers picked with their two picks on Day 2.
