Carolina Panthers Seven Round Mock Draft

March 27, 2024 by Last Word On Pro Football

Carolina Panthers Mock Draft

It’s no secret the Panthers need to bolster their roster around Bryce Young. This seven round Carolina Panthers mock draft hits a lot of the Panthers needs, while also taking positional value into account.

Note: This used PFF’s Mock Draft Simulator on its default settings.

33. Jer’Zhan Newton, DL

After the Diontae Johnson trade, receiver isn’t as glaring of a need. The position will still be addressed later, but adding a serious disruptor to this defense can take pressure off the offense to score points. Newton is one of the best defenders in the draft and getting him here is a gold mine.

39. Troy Franklin, WR

Once considered a slam dunk first round pick, Franklin is now a hot name at the top of the second. He’s got great long speed, just takes some time to giddy up. He adds a deep threat that this team desperately needs. Getting the number five wide receiver in the draft in the second round (and a pick after Legette) feels like a win.

65. Christian Haynes, G

No one is jumping out of their chair when a guard gets picked. But Panthers fans should be happy with a selection like this. Haynes slots in nicely either as an immediate starter or a depth piece, and is one of PFF’s highest graded IOL in the class.

101. Braelon Allen, RB

Let’s add a monster in the backfield to this team. Allen brings a different element than Hubbard to the offense with an intense rushing style and brawling mentality and will play his entire rookie season at 20 years old. It’s not stretch to say he’s still growing both mentally and physically, and he can grow alongside Young.

142. Ben Sinnott, TE

Big, strong, fast and an extension of the run game. Canales is from the Shanahan tree, and Sinnott could be a Kittle light in both the run and pass game. He’s a problem to bring down with the ball in his hands, and should contribute early.

166. Hunter Nourzad, C

Nourzad is an experienced player with prototypical size. In the sixth round, a depth player is a hit, and Nourzad’s floor is a solid backup. If he develops into a long-term starter, this is a home run.

240. Jarius Monroe, CB

This Tulane prospect allowed less than 50% of targets his way to be completed and recorded three interceptions to only one touchdown. At 6’2″, 205 he’s a good bet to stick around whether as a backup corner or a special team specialist.

Their defense gets a disruptor on the interior, the offense gets a serious face lift and their late round picks could be contributors. All in all, the Panthers should be happy if their draft goes something like this, but with no first round pick it’s hard to forecast a full turnaround in 2024. This team will go as far as Bryce Young takes them, and now at least he’ll have the weapons to be evaluated fairly.
