CHARLOTTE, N.C. — David Moore stood with the Carolina Panthers’ group of punt returners, including Trevor Etienne, Jimmy Horn Jr., Rico Dowdle and Jalen Coker.
Between punts, Moore appeared to be animated, chatting with teammates.
“I’m just happy to be out on the field, man,” Moore said after Tuesday’s practice.
The Panthers activated veteran wide receiver to the 53-man roster and could dress Saturday for the NFL Wild Card matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at Bank of America Stadium.
The NFC South-champion Panthers, who edged the visiting Rams during Week 13, are prepping for their first playoff appearance since 2017.
“You see the different fight,” said Moore, who has appeared in six postseason games over his eight-year career. “Oh man, playoff is fun.
“Playoffs (are) what you play for. I know people don’t want to go home, so you better leave it all on the field and that’s all we can do.”
Moore dislocated his elbow during a Week 4 rush attempt. He remained connected with his teammates during his recovery.
“Throughout this whole process, even though he obviously hasn’t been able to play, (he’s been) in the building, he’s still been huge for us,” Panthers quarterback Bryce Young said. “He’s still been brings great energy every single day; a veteran presence for us in that receiver room.”

Carolina Panthers G Robert Hunt Nearing Return?
Moore may have company coming off IR.
Panthers coach Dave Canales said Wednesday’s practice could dictate the availability of guard Robert Hunt, who participated fully Tuesday. Hunt (biceps) has been sidelined since Week 2.
“He looked great today,” Canales said. “(Wednesday) is going to be an elevated practice. We’re going to run a little bit more, push on each other a little bit, and that’s going to be a really big test for him, so we’re just going to have to take that one day to day.
“But I’m very optimistic about it.”
With players like Hunt and Moore returning, Canales admitted to the sensitivities of replacing younger players who helped the franchise capture its first division title since 2015. But when it comes to adding a former Pro Bowler (Hunt) and a postseason veteran (Moore), it’s an obvious choice.
“That’s always a really difficult decision for me and for Dan, as we think about the guys who’ve worked so hard to help us to get to this point,” Canales said. “And understanding that the plan was always that Rob and D-Mo (Moore) were going to help us do that and now they’re ready.”
Claudin Cherelus, who missed the regular-season finale, also appears “ready.” The inside linebacker returned to practice Tuesday and should start alongside Christian Rozeboom on Saturday.
