The Miami Dolphins finally got into the winning column on Monday night, but it came at a cost.

Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns, while De’Von Achane rushed for 99 yards in the 27-21 win over the New York Jets.

The bad news for the Dolphins involves wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who left the game with a serious knee injury. On Monday, the Dolphins announced Hill will miss the remainder of the season with a dislocated knee. The knee has multiple torn ligaments, including the ACL.

Despite the win, the Dolphins still have numerous problems, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Jets ran the ball at will on Monday, finishing with 197 rushing yards and one touchdown. New York also accumulated 404 yards of total offense against the Dolphins.

Do the Carolina Panthers have enough firepower to exploit the Dolphins’ defense? If Bryce Young plays like he did in Week 4, then the answer is no.

Young finished 18 of 30 for 150 yards with one touchdown and a QBR of 43.6 in a 42-13 loss to the New England Patriots. Those numbers are not good enough to beat most teams in the NFL.

What scares me about the line is the Panthers’ inability to win or cover as a favorite. The Panthers have lost 10 straight games SU and ATS as the favorite. That losing streak dates back to 2021.

These two teams are surprisingly good candidates to hit the over — Miami 3-1 and Carolina 2-2 in 2025. Both teams allow an average of more than 23 points per game.

With a total below 45, I’ll pick the over instead of siding with a team.

Pick: Over 44.5 (-110)

Dolphins vs. Panthers Prop

Miami has serious issues stopping the run. The Dolphins rank 30th against the run (158.0 yards per game) this season.

Carolina could take advantage of this opportunity with a heavy dose of Chuba Hubbard. It’s been a slow start for Hubbard, who only has 217 yards rushing on 53 carries.

The Panthers have been behind in most of their games, which has led to more passing in a negative game script. The Panthers should look to exploit the Dolphins’ inferior run defense.

Pick: Chuba Hubbard Over 52.5 Rushing Yards (-117)
