The time has finally arrived once again for yet another college football season, and in the Queen City, it starts with a bang, as the Charlotte 49ers take on the App State Mountaineers on Friday night. Both App State AD Doug Gillin and Charlotte AD Mike Hill joined Kyle Bailey to preview both schools’ respective seasons as well as the impact of this neutral-site game.
App State AD Doug Gillin was the first to talk to KB as the Mountaineers named former Gamecock and NFL OC Dowell Loggains to be the Mountaineers next HC, as Doug said that he loves the way that he runs the program and cares about Boone, while building for both the now and the future aligns with what he hopes for in a HC and he is excited for the season to start.
The 49ers are also entering Friday’s game with a new HC in former Ohio Bobcat HC Tim Albin, leading the charge as 49ers AD Mike Hill told Kyle that he is an absolute pro and the real deal, and Mike loves how he has already fit in with the program which has the fanbase excited.
The conversation with both ADs would go on to broach how big it is for both schools to be playing in an NFL stadium, as well as how both schools are adjusting to the House Settlement in college athletics.
