Former First Round Pick Linked to Carolina Panthers

July 22, 2025 by Heavy

After being released yesterday, the Carolina Panthers are in contention to bolster their offense. The team prioritized offense in the 2025 draft, as Bryce Young needs as many weapons as he can get.

Coming off of a five win season, the Panthers have a relatively easy schedule ahead of them. Back to back games against the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers won’t be easy, but there’s no reason they can’t compete in the NFC South.

Noah Fant’s Release Could Bring Him to Carolina

The Panthers offense leaves a lot to be desired. The talent is beginning to fall into place, especially with the Tetairoa McMillan draft pick. Adam Thielen leads a young receiving core to a quarterback that was benched last season. Chubba Hubbard possesses the skills needed to make an impact, with the offense requiring as many weapons as possible.

Carolina’s decision to bench their second-year quarterback may have saved his career. He threw four more touchdowns and one less interception in two fewer games. His completion percentage went up, and his six rushing touchdowns trumped his rookie season. Young remains just 23-years-old as the Panthers look to provide him the best chance of winning.

Noah Fant spent three seasons on both the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. He wasn’t as explosive in Seattle, but that’s not to say he doesn’t have anything left in the tank. Fant remains just 27-years-old, which slots him right into this Panthers offense.

Last season, the Panthers saw a pair of tight ends finish with 200+ yards. 25-year-old, Tommy Tremble’s 234 yards put him nearly 100 behind rookie Ja’Tavion Sanders. Sanders had one less touchdown than Tremble, who has been on the team since 2021. Tremble just signed a two-year, $10.5 million deal to remain in Carolina.

Fant was set to make nearly all of that in his final season in Seattle. With a $8.5M cap hit, the team knew it was time to move on as they drafted Elijah Arroyo with the No. 50 pick.

Fans Chime in on a Potential Noah Fant Signing

This fan revealed a shocking stat about the Panthers lack of a quality tight end, “The Panthers haven’t had a TE eclipse 500 yards in a season since Greg Olsen. Noah Fant had 500 yards for the Seahawks last year. He also spent the 2022 season in Seattle when Canales was still on staff.”

“How aggressive the Panthers are in pursuing Noah Fant will reveal a lot about how they feel about the current TE room,” someone said. Knowing they just re-signed Tremble, and Sanders is only in his second-year, they have quite the decision ahead of them.

One individual commented, “Need the Panthers to go get Noah Fant since the Seahawks released em.”

A great description was given by this fan, who linked Fant to the Panthers, “Another hit on a tough career for Noah Fant. When healthy he’s been an exciting receiver threat. His stint with the Seahawks wasn’t a great re-start. Now he gets a chance to pick a team that can use a receiving TE. Dolphins and Panthers come to mind, but could be an injury fill.”

At this point in Young’s career, any sort of veteran presence could help impact the offense in a positive way. Even if Fant isn’t TE1, there is room for him to join the Panthers organization.
