The Team Penske driver captured the Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway, earning his 18th career NASCAR Cup Series victory and his first win of the 2026 season.

Blaney has quietly built one of the strongest résumés of any driver in the modern Cup Series era. Since breaking through with his first victory in 2017, the Ohio native has won races on superspeedways, intermediates, short tracks, and even NASCAR’s biggest stages.

Here’s a look at some of the most important wins that helped define Blaney’s Cup Series career.

Every NASCAR driver remembers the first one.

Blaney’s first Cup Series victory came at Pocono Raceway in June 2017, when he drove the Wood Brothers Racing No. 21 Ford to victory in the Axalta Presents the Pocono 400.

The win ended a long drought for the historic Wood Brothers organization and immediately established Blaney as one of NASCAR’s rising young talents. At just 23 years old, he became one of the youngest race winners in the modern era.

That victory also launched the next phase of his career. The following season, Blaney moved to Team Penske, where he has remained ever since.

Blaney’s second Cup win came in one of the most chaotic playoff races NASCAR has seen.

At the inaugural Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval race in 2018, a crash entering the final chicane involving several leaders opened the door for Blaney to slip through and take the victory.

Blaney slipped through the chaos to win the Bank of America Roval 400, punching his ticket deeper into the NASCAR Playoffs.

The race instantly became one of the most memorable finishes of the decade and proved Blaney could deliver in high-pressure playoff moments.

Blaney’s first superspeedway win came at Talladega in October 2019, where he edged Ryan Newman by just 0.007 seconds in the 1000Bulbs.com 500.

It remains one of the closest finishes in Talladega history.

The photo finish showed another dimension of Blaney’s driving ability. Superspeedway racing requires precision and patience, and the victory helped establish him as one of the strongest drivers in the draft.

The victory came in the final race of the regular season, a pressure-packed moment where several drivers were fighting for the last postseason spots.

The 2023 Martinsville Playoff Victory

Driving the No. 12 Team Penske Ford, Blaney dominated the Xfinity 500, leading 145 laps and locking himself into the Championship 4.

Short-track races at Martinsville are notoriously difficult to control, making the performance one of the strongest of his career.

The victory ultimately helped propel Blaney into the final race of the season, where he went on to win the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series championship at Phoenix Raceway.

Phoenix 2026: Win No. 18

Blaney’s most recent win came at Phoenix Raceway, where he captured the Straight Talk Wireless 500 to open his 2026 win column.

The victory marked the 18th NASCAR Cup Series win of his career and halted Tyler Reddick’s bid for a fourth consecutive Cup Series victory.
