Last Friday we saw the start of the 2025 season for the Panthers as they fell to the Browns at home by a score of 30-10. On Monday, both Steve Smith Sr and Jake Delhomme joined Kyle Bailey to give their biggest observations from the first action of Panthers football since January.
Steve Smith started things out by discussing Xavier Legette’s ejection on the 2nd drive of the game and if that should be a major concern for the 2024 first-round pick, as Steve told Kyle that he loves that XL did that because it was proof that he’s taking this serious and growing up heading into his 2nd year, and Steve pointed out that not everyone on a team can be a church boy and you have to have a mixture of everybody.
Jake kept things on the offensive side of the ball as he told Kyle that Friday looked like the Bryce from late last year as he was so smooth throughout the game, and Jake loved the performance of Jalen Coker. The only qualm Jake had was that he wished the starting unit would’ve run the ball a little bit more, but outside of that, Jake was pleased with the performance from the starting O.
Both Panthers legends would go on to discuss some of the good and bad from the defense, and what they are looking for when Carolina travels to Houston later this week.
