Week 2 of the college football season may not have the pomp and circumstance that week 1 brings, but it still has some marquee games to go around, as one of those matchups sees the 11th-ranked Illini travel down to Durham to take on Duke. Duke HC Manny Diaz joined Kyle Bailey to preview the matchup, as well as give his main takeaways from their week 1 win over Elon.
When it came down to Saturday’s matchup against Illinois, Coach Diaz told Kyle that they are a veteran team that has improved over the last 2 years, and they have kept the core together and that has grown a belief within the program, which Manny thinks will be a good challenge for his team as Manny also believes this will be a battle of strengths in the trenches on both sides.
Manny would discuss QB Darian Mensah’s debut at Duke, and if the ACC should adopt a 9-game conference schedule moving forward.
