This upcoming weekend in Charlotte marks the return of the fastest motorsports in the world, with the NHRA taking over the ZMax Dragway for the 4-Wide Nationals. A man who knows a thing or two about the high-octane sport of drag racing is Matt Hagan, as the 4-time Funny Car World Champion joined Kyle Bailey to preview the big weekend.
When it comes to how crazy drag racing as a whole as when asked about what it feels like to be in the cockpit in a funny car, Matt explained to Kyle that it’s like a mule kicks you in the chest especially when you pull 6G’s on the run, and you get pulled back -7G’s when the parachutes deploy after the run as Matt pointed out that he’s always out of breath. Matt also pointed out how the fan engagement is second-to-none at an NHRA event with every ticket being a pit-pass and the speeds can be felt from the top row of every event.
Matt also would go on to explain how he got into drag racing, and what makes 4-Wide National racing at Vegas and Charlotte such a challenge.
