It’s almost over. Can we do this again next week?
Safety watch has come to Charlotte as the Carolina Panthers are entering Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft without having addressed their most undermanned position on defense. Can the team find an elite starter in the fourth round or later? Probably not. But they may be able to find a promising young contributor to pair with Demani Richardson before going out and signing one of the remaining veteran safeties left in free agency.
Or, they could draft every safety left in this draft with their five remaining picks and hope one of them shakes out to be this year’s Captain Munnerlyn.
Basically, this is the couch on our front lawn that we’re going to heckle the whole neighborhood from for the rest of the draft. But don’t lie, we know y’all are mostly sticking around at this point for that sweet, sweet, UDFA chaos.
