Despite sitting out for the 2024 campaign, NFL legend Jason Pierre Paul is aiming for a comeback this upcoming season. In a recent interview with TMZ, the former Giant legend is ready for a new opportunity as he wants to play again in the league. It may seem hard for that to happen given his age and playing time, but it’s not entirely impossible. Originally selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, the former South Florida product became one of the best defensive linemen in the league under the Eli Manning era, helping the Giants win a Super Bowl.
Pierre Paul won one more Super Bowl recently with Hall of Famer quarterback Tom Brady. He has a lot of experience that may intrigue several teams who are looking for capable men to instill their mindset, especially for a defense. Pierre Paul has both of those, but since he hasn’t been playing much in recent memory, it makes sense why teams are not giving him a chance. Although he did play in 2023 but that was after only playing three matchups the previous year.
Despite that, he was a journeyman between the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints for the 2023 campaign, so any team that might sign him could have some liability on their hands. However, Pierre Paul’s experience could outweigh the cons for these five teams looking to win a Super Bowl one day.

NFL Legend Jason Pierre Paul Aiming for Comeback This Season – 5 Potential Destinations
Possible Fits
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the scariest trenches units in the league. Chris Jones, Mike Danna, Charles Omenihu and George Karlaftis are enough firepower to make life a living hell for opposing offenses. However, Pierre Paul could fit into the mix of it all. The veteran could pair behind Danna as a solid rotational piece to boost their defense in time for the Super Bowl, which they were embarrassed in this year.
Dallas Cowboys
Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys lost Demarcus Lawrence, who didn’t do much in the 2024 campaign, but his presence was enough to keep this defense explosive. Dante Fowler Jr. is luckily returning for the team’s pass rush as a capable replacement, but they could add Pierre Paul in that rotation. Marshawn Kneeland dealt with a serious injury this past season, and they don’t need to rush him if they can sign Pierre Paul at least on a one-year deal.
Los Angeles Chargers
Head Coach Jim Harbaugh wants to win football games in the trenches, but can’t do that with Da’Shawn Hand, Teair Tart and Khalil Mack single-handedly carrying this unit. After losing Poona Ford and Morgan Fox, the team needs more experience on the defensive line. Pierre Paul could be the nostalgic piece that Harbaugh could welcome with open arms to streamline the depth of this defensive line.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers won’t make the Super Bowl next year, but with the addition of Pierre Paul, it boosts their chances for postseason contention. Quarterback Bryce Young is in the driver’s seat to lead this team, but as long as they upgrade the defense as well, they’re in serious business. Tershawn Wharton’s signing is a capable difference, especially for Derrick Brown, who is returning. Pierre Paul could strengthen this pass rush and help Jadeveon Clowney on one side of the defensive line.
Chicago Bears
As much as the Bears fixed their offensive line for quarterback Caleb Williams, they made some notable moves on defense. After signing Dayo Odeyingo and drafting Shemar Turner, they have a lot of talent to work with. Grady Jarrett adds the spice to the mix, and Pierre Paul could be like icing on the cake for this organization to have a huge turnaround this year.
