NHL Predictions
Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Rangers
2024-25 Season Series: Hurricanes 4-0 Rangers
U.S TV: TNT; MSG; Max
Canada TV: SN1
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
We open up NHL predictions with our featured game between the Hurricanes and the Rangers. Carolina is expected to go with Frederik Andersen in goal for this game. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Hurricanes have cooled off some after a hot start. However, the Canes are still one of the favourites to make another deep Stanley Cup Playoff run. Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho are tied for first on the team in points with 11.
Igor Shesterkin will likely draw the start for the Rangers, who have won three consecutive games. The Blueshirts were left for dead after some puzzling losses. However, the team ended their West Coast road trip with three victories. Adam Fox is first in assists (8) and points (11). However, Taylor Raddysh is tops in goals with five.
New York is playing better, but Carolina has dominated the last few meetings between the two clubs.
Prediction: Hurricanes win 4-2.
Philadelphia Flyers vs Montreal Canadiens
2024-25 Season Series: Flyers 1-2 Panthers
How to Watch:
U.S TV: NBC Sports Philadelphia; ESPN+
Canada TV: TSN2; RDS
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Our next game of NHL predictions has the Philadelphia Flyers taking on the Montreal Canadiens. Philadelphia is expected to start Daniel Vladar in between the pipes. The Flyers have dropped their last two games in a row. Trevor Zegras has been fantastic during his first season in Philadelphia. Zegras is tops in assists (9) and points (13) so far this campaign.
Sam Montembeault is the probable starter for Montreal, which has won three consecutive games. Nick Suzuki is off to an incredible start with 16 assists and 18 points for the Habs already this campaign. Cole Caufield already has 10 goals, while Lane Huston already has 10 assists for Montreal.
The Flyers have looked better at times. However, Montreal should get the victory in this one.
Prediction: Canadiens win 5-2.
Edmonton Oilers vs Dallas Stars
2024-25 Season Series: Oilers 1-2 Stars
How to Watch:
U.S TV: Victory+; ESPN+
Canada TV: Sportsnet
Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Our last game of NHL predictions is a rematch of the last two Western Conference Finals. Both the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars are looking for more consistency. Edmonton is 4-4-2 in the last 10 games, but is coming off a victory last time out. Connor McDavid leads the way in assists (14) and points (17) so far for the Oilers. However, Leon Draisaitl is first on the club in goals with nine. Stuart Skimmer is the confirmed starter in goal for Edmonton.
Casey DeSmith will get the call for Dallas, which has lost the last two games in a row. The Stars have also struggled after a hot start, but injuries have played a hand in that. Mikko Rantanen is first on the team in assists (9) and points (14), but Wyatt Johnston is tops in goals with seven.
Both squads can be one of the better teams in the league when things are going right. However, Edmonton’s offence carries it to the win.
Prediction: Oilers win 4-3.
Prop Bets of the Night
We round out NHL predictions with some prop bets for this evening’s games. Let’s go back to the featured matchup for our favourite props for the night. The over/under for the Hurricanes and Rangers is 5.5, and we think Carolina will cover with a late empty-net goal.
As for individual props, go with K’Andre Miller to get a point for the Canes against his old team. On the Rangers’ side of things, take Mika Zibanejad to score an anytime goal.
