The Panthers pulled the trigger on adding their star cornerback to the active roster after a stint on IR this season.
The Panthers officially activated Jaycee Horn back to their active roster today, after designating him for a return off injured/reserve that opened a 21 day window to potentially return.
Sources: The #Panthers are activating cornerback Jaycee Horn, who has been out since Week 1 with a severe hamstring issue.
While still unclear whether he’ll play Sunday, the former top-10 pick is off IR and available. pic.twitter.com/OnUoTGI5a1

The Panthers only had maybe a week to make this decision, so it makes sense they went ahead and activated him. However, he is listed as questionable at the time of this writing for Sunday’s game in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers. He would immediately garner a matchup against Mike Evans as the Panthers de-facto CB1.
The Panthers have been adding reinforcements this week for their injury beleaguered secondary, adding CB Shaquill Griffin from waivers, activating Horn for his potential return, as well as getting CJ Henderson back from the concussion protocol. As Walker pointed out earlier this week, the playoffs aren’t technically out of reach as of this point in the NFC South. These moves won’t help the offense however, unless they can spark some turnovers. Still, it’ll be nice to see Horn back on the field making some plays and being the shutdown corner he is, hopefully for the rest of the season whenever he returns. (Please stay healthy, please).
