The Carolina Panthers will hold their training camp next year in a different location.
Instead of holding it at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, it will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“We’re excited to hold training camp at our facility in Charlotte,” Panthers President Kristi Coleman said. “We appreciate Wofford and the Spartanburg community for their hospitality over the years. We are dedicated to the fans in South Carolina, and we will continue to bring fan and community events to the state.”
While the Panthers are excited about this move, the fans and media members are not.
“Wow. No more #Panthers training camp in Spartanburg at Wofford. That sucks. Not a fan of the move right now. Maybe I’ll warm up to it, but having it in SC allowed the connectivity between fans from both states. Kinda defeats the ‘two states, one team,’ no?” one tweet read.

Interesting timing on this announcement. And another miss by David Tepper and the Panthers to leave Wofford. https://t.co/rNRImpZysN

Hey there was a really embarrassing article on The Athletic today is there anything we can announce to distract from that?

It’s hilarious to me that Tepper said let me go ahead and get this tweet off while y’all already hate me lmao https://t.co/lDpaq1MSla

“As someone who went to his first Spartanburg training camp this preseason, bummed about this. It’s like we’re trying to tear down all of the history and traditions of the team,” another tweet read.

Going to Spartanburg each year was cool and I hate it for the fans in that area that won’t be able to go now. Really is a bummer. On the other hand, I will not miss the dreaded 3-hour daily round trip. https://t.co/NvkbWFz1q3
