The Panthers have chosen to place Jonathon Brooks on the PUP list,
It’s been a tough start to the NFL career of running back Jonathon Brooks and unfortunately it’s only looking to get even more difficult for the 2024 second-round pick. Per several reports, the Panthers are placing Brooks on the physically unable to perform list, effectively ending his 2025 season before it even began.
Brooks, who entered the NFL rehabbing a lower-body injury after being drafted out of Texas a year ago, played sparingly as a rookie before suffering a torn ACL in Week 14 of the 2024 season. With the injury occurring so late in the season, it looks like Carolina did not want to risk any sort of a rushed timetable and have decided to give him well over a year and half to recover from his latest injury.

Before the injury, Brooks started one game for the Panthers and played in three contests total. He rushed nine times for just 22 yards and caught three passes for another 23 yards.
In the 2025 draft, the Panthers drafted Georgia running back Trevor Etienne, the younger brother of Jaguars back Travis Etienne, in hopes of reinforcing a backfield that also signed former Cowboys runner Rico Dowdle in free agency.
