At least we still aren’t sliding backwards

Fan confidence in the direction of the Carolina Panthers has set a new season high this week, with 83% of survey respondents indicating they are happy with what they are seeing. Confidence has been rising steadily since their Week 9 win against the New Orleans Saints and has stayed on the rise each week since in spite of the team’s losing streak that currently consists of two consecutive losses.

This is most likely due to the improved and improving play of quarterback Bryce Young. The sophomore quarterback is doing everything in his power to win back fans. The current 83% confidence mark is not that much higher than the preseason confidence level of 79% of fans. That plummeted to 17% of fans after seeing him play in the season opener.

We tried to parse this out into different confidence levels this week to see if there was a difference between the fans who are confident in the direction of the team under Dan Morgan and Dave Canales but were not confident in Young, and came with a decisively inconclusive data. 83% of fans are also currently confident in the direction of Young’s development.

Check back in with out Panthers Reacts survey next week. Depending on what happens Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, we’ll try to dig into what fans are now expecting for Young’s ceiling.

This week’s poll results brought to you by Fanduel Sportsbook.
