How big and where will Carolina spend in free agency
Free agency begins next week and the Carolina Panthers have a shopping list that seems longer than an empty salary cap. General manager Dan Morgan has his work cut out for him with an entire defense to make over and upgrades needed at every other position short of quarterback and long snapper.
The Panthers have ~$30M in cap space and room to work with some of their current contracts to increase that figure. That puts them, currently, abouy 20th in the league for cap space.
They likely won’t be the biggest spenders at any given position, but they’ll need to prioritize one or two to make impact signings while shoring up the rest of the roster. That was their strategy last season with their headline signings of guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis. Guys like Josey Jewell and DJ Wonnum filled out the class with reliable vets who have upside.
This week we are asking you which position will see the attention that offensive guard saw last year? Answer the poll on where the Panthers will spend the most money this year and then chime in in the comments below.
