Have fans seen enough or do y’all still have some hope?
The Carolina Panthers are a franchise in turmoil. Few, if any, decisions have worked out in their favor in the last six years. Few, if any, decisions have been bigger than trading up to the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to select Bryce Young.
With the franchise about to embark on its third head coaching search, and probably its second general manager search, since David Tepper purchased the team before the 2018 season, now is the time to reassess everything about the team. No asset is bigger or more worthy of scrutiny than the quarterback.
It has been hard to assess Young because of an incredibly limited supporting cast. It is also possible that it has been difficult to assess that supporting cast because of Young’s performance. The Panthers have a densely knotted chicken-and-egg scenario here that was further complicated by rigid and uncomplementary coaching.
Still, if you’re reading this then you’ve been paying at least marginal attention to the games. Some of you poor saps have even watched every snap from this season. What is your opinion of Young? Will he develop into a franchise quarterback for the Panthers?
