CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Carolina Panthers have set their roster for rookie minicamp this weekend.
The team announced Thursday that 42 players are set to attend starting Friday. The roster includes eight draft picks, 19 undrafted free agents and 14 tryout players.
CSL learned that rookie linebacker Nic Scourton and running back Trevor Etienne are Carolina’s only draft picks who have yet to sign.
“Obviously we’re really excited about this draft class,” General Manager Dan Morgan told media Thursday. “A lot of hard work was put in by the scouts, by the support staff, the coaches. It’s just a group effort.
Rookies arrived at Bank of America Stadium on Thursday for first introductions, physicals, and meetings. Practice will be held on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
The class is headlined by No. 8 overall pick Tetairoa McMillan. The former Arizona wide receiver was a first-team All-American last year with 1,319 receiving yards, averaging nearly 16 yards a catch.
“We felt like everything went really good, we’re really pleased with how the draft turned out and just excited to keep building this team towards something special,” Morgan said.
Undrafted free agents include: Linebacker Bam Martin-Scott (South Carolina) and WR Moose Muhammad III (Texas A&M, Myers Park High School), while tryout players with North Carolina ties are LB Ositadinma Ekwonu (Charlotte 49ers, Providence Day) and CB Keion Crossen (Western Carolina).
