CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Carolina Panthers added depth to their roster Saturday while releasing a backup quarterback following last Sunday’s Green Bay game, the team reports.
Undrafted rookie Jared Harrison-Hunte from SMU moves from the practice squad to the active roster, making him the 12th rookie and seventh defensive lineman on the roster.
To make room for Harrison-Hunte, veteran quarterback Mike White has been waived. White was the emergency third quarterback for the Green Bay game as Bryce Young and Andy Dalton recovered from injuries.
Neither quarterback is on the injury list for Sunday’s Saints game.
Other roster moves
Panthers have also activated practice squad WR Dan Chisena.
Chisen played in seven games for the Panthers last season. He has been in the league for five years. This comes after rookie Tetairoa McMillan and Brycen Tremayne were listed as questionable on the injury list.
