The Panthers’ Week 4 win was not as big as winning a playoff game. For a team that hasn’t been .500 since 2021, the victory did feel like the team’s best win of the last five seasons.
The Panthers overcame a three-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Cowboys 30-27, thanks to a Ryan Fitzgerald game-winning field goal as time expired.
Don’t look now, but Bryce Young is starting to figure things out. The former No. 1 pick threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Rico Dowdle has been a revelation for the Panthers. The sixth-year running back accumulated 239 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown to propel Carolina to victory.
Carolina is 3-0 at home but 0-3 on the road. Young is 1-15 SU in 16 career road starts for the Panthers, including 0-10 against non-divisional opponents.
Across the pond, the New York Jets played one of the worst games of football you’ll ever see in a 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos.
The Jets’ offense was an abomination. Quarterback Justin Fields finished 9 of 17 for 45 yards. Meanwhile, the Jets’ offense finished with 82 total yards and surrendered nine sacks.
Fields could also be without wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who is expected to miss some time with a knee injury.
If this line moves to the Jets +2 or +3 and vice versa, the underdog is the play. If it remains a pick’em, I’ll ride with the Panthers.
For Carolina, the magic number is 20 points. If Carolina scores more than 20 points, Fields’ teams are 0-26 SU.
Pick: Panthers PK (-120)
Panthers vs. Jets Prop
If you think the Panthers are going to score over 20 points, then they have a great shot at winning.
Again, teams that score more than 20 points against Fields are 26-0 SU.
Carolina is averaging 22.0 points per game. Young picks up the second road win of his career.
Pick: Panthers Over 21.5 Points (-113)
